Jarrett Allen: Report| Injury| Fractured Finger| Out

The Cleveland Cavaliers won a 104-96 win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday evening, but suffered major losses in the process. The team announced Monday that All-Star center Jarrett Allen suffered a fracture to his left middle finger during the game, and will be sidelined indefinitely as he undergoes further evaluation and treatment. Allen played just 10 minutes, scored six points and got two rebounds against Toronto.

The injury clearly comes at a tough time for the Cavaliers, who are in the middle of a tough fight for playoff position in the Eastern Conference. Following their win over Toronto, the Cavs are sixth on the season with a 37–27 record. If they can remain at their current position, they will not be required to participate in the play-in tournament. However, if they come in seventh, they will. They currently hold a three-game lead over the Raptors for that sixth place.

Fractured Finger

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ inspiring but injured 2021-22 season stuck to that theme with a win over Toronto on Sunday and a loss to their All-Star big man.

The team announced on Monday that Jarrett Allen was initially ruled out of the game in the second quarter with a quad injury, after he was diagnosed with a left middle finger injury.

A CT scan performed Monday at the Cleveland Clinic Sports Health revealed the fracture and he will undergo additional evaluation and treatment. No timetable has been set for his return to basketball activities and his status will be updated as appropriate.
