Jarrett Allen is an American professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association. He played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns. Allen was selected 22nd overall by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2017 NBA draft. In January 2021, he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

J.B. Bickerstaff said that both Lauri Markkanen and Jarrett Allen were able to practice today.

“They’re progressing,” Bickerstaff said of those two. “It’s always how you recover the next day and how you respond. My expectations are that they’ll play Monday, but you never know.”

Allen didn’t show any signs of rust after missing the last three games due to illness, turning in his eighth double-double of the 2021 campaign. He’s off to one of his best starts to the season of his young career, averaging 14.6 points, 11.2 rebounds in 32.6 minutes over 15 contests.

Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen is not listed on the team’s injury report for Monday night against the Brooklyn Nets.

WHAT IT MEANS:

Allen has been out for a bit due to a non-COVID illness. However, he was able to get in two practice sessions this weekend, and he is set to return to the court against his former team. Look for Ed Davis to revert to a bench role with Allen’s return.
