The Pirates selected Talon as the second overall pick in the 2010 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2016. The Pirates traded Talon to the Yankees ahead of the 2021 season.
Injury
He was 14-10 in 191 innings. In 2019, Tailon’s season was cut short due to an arm injury, with him being called off for the rest of the season on August 2, 2019, as he would have to undergo surgery.

Jameson Talon signed a 1-year / $2,250,000 contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates, which includes $2,250,000 guaranteed and an annual average salary of $2,250,000. In 2021, Tailon will earn a base salary of $2,250,000, with a total salary of $2,250,000.
The Yankees acquired the 29-year-old Talon in exchange for four prospects on Sunday, reuniting the former Bucs and hoping to strengthen their staff with a right-hander who has gleaned power arsenal over the years. 2020

That deal left open the possibility of a regular season that extended in October or later.
