Career points
James Harden has established himself as one of the greatest scorers in basketball history with his performances over the past decade.
Drafted No. 3 overall by Oklahoma City in 2009, the Arizona State product played behind Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook for three seasons with the Thunder. Then it was in Houston, where he emerged as a franchise player and earned All-Star status in all eight full seasons with the Rockets. In January 2021, Harden was traded to the Nets as Brooklyn wanted to complete a championship-caliber roster.
Harden has scored 50 or more points in a game 23 times in his NBA career. Perhaps unsurprisingly, all 23 of those performances took place as a member of the Rockets.

In his first season with the team, he set or matched several team records and was named to his first All-NBA team (third team selection) as well as his first NBA All-Star team. Over the next seven-and-a-half seasons with the team, he would lead the league in scoring three times and assist once, and was named the NBA Most Valuable Player in 2018. During his time in Houston, he was featured on eight consecutive NBA All-Star teams, earning All-NBA team honors seven times, including six first-team selections. At the start of the 2020-21 season, Harden was traded to the Brooklyn Nets as part of a four-team trade. With the Nets, he was named to his ninth and tenth consecutive All-Star Games. In October 2021, Harden was honored as one of the league’s all-time greats by being named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.
