James Geoffrey Franklin (born February 2, 1972) is an American football coach and former player who is the head football coach at Penn State. Franklin previously served as head football coach at Vanderbilt University from 2011 to 2013.

The Penn State head coach touched on areas of improvement, naming key metrics won by his team and team players of the week. Then, he moves to Ohio State by highlighting players on both sides of the ball, who have been recognized by his staff as outstanding players.

Tuesday’s media session centered around Penn State’s upcoming matchup with Ohio State. One question was related to the secondary and whether Franklin felt more confident with this group going into the game than the previous secondary. Another reporter wanted to know how Franklin and his staff could imitate CJ Stroud in practice for the defense. Finally, a reporter asked about role-playing turnover in big games.
