Jalen Alexander Hurts (born August 7, 1998) is an American football quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played his first three seasons of college football in Alabama, where he was part of the team that won the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship, and used his final year of eligibility at Oklahoma. Selected by the Eagles in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Harts became their starter at the end of his rookie season.

We saw it in college—and down the stretch last season, as the Hearts went on to win five of their last six. AJ With the Browns joining the offense – and Haasan Reddick, Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean joining the defense – the Eagles have a real chance of winning the NFC East. Jalen Harts signed a 4-year, $6,025,171 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, which includes a $1,941,944 signing bonus, $2,825,815 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,506,293.
Draft

On the night of the 2020 NFL Draft, reports from the Eagles indicated that the Hearts were not drafted to replace Carson Wentz. Rather, the Eagles had the opportunity to use the former Oklahoma (and Alabama) passer-by as a Swiss Army knife-type player similar to Hill.
Former Eagles head coach Doug Pedersen said as much after Harts’ selection that he was planning to use Hurts in that Tessam Hill role, prompting the idea of a possible two-quarterback system with Philadelphia. That plan was very ambitious.
