DeBrusk enters Tuesday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks with a five-game scoring streak. He has seven goals and two assists during the streak, including a hat trick in Monday’s 7-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings. The Bruins have given permission to Valette to talk with other teams in search of both a trade and a contract. Valette has let teams know that DeBrusk is willing to consider an extension.
DeBrusk is due a $4.41 million qualifying offer when his current two-year, $7.35 million contract expires at the season’s end. It may be that teams are wary about acquiring DeBrusk and having to issue what might be considered an expensive qualifying offer.
