According to the Browns’ official injury report, Clowney is dealing with ankle, chest and knee problems. Clowney missed the Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers because he felt some soreness in his knee during the warmup. The Browns lost that game 47-42.

Clowney did play in last week’s blowout loss, 37-14, against the Arizona Cardinals. But the heavy defeat was not the pass rusher’s fault, at least according to PFF. With four tackles, four pressures and one sack, Clowney had an overall rating of 86.0. As a pass rusher, PFF gave him an 80.4 score. Against the run, he recorded a 75.7 grade, and as a tackler, PFF gave Clowney a 73.8 rating.

The long awaited arrival of free agent defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is over. After finally being signed last week and sought after for at least a year prior to that, Clowney will be a member of the Cleveland Browns in 2021.

Among the many pressing questions was what number would he wear. It appears he will wear No. 90.

Trade

We are now nine months removed from the Texans’ decision to trade Jadeveon Clowney to the Seattle Seahawks. Immediately before the season started, the Texans sent Clowney to Seattle for Jacob Martin, Barkevious Mingo, and a 2020 third round pick that became Gareon Conely.

Contract

This past week, the Cleveland Browns signed DE Jadeveon Clowney to a 1-year deal worth $8 million, with up to $2 million in incentives included. Browns GM Andrew Berry continued to include voidable years in the deal to save cap space in 2021 and spread the burden out over future years.
