Jack Roosevelt Robinson (January 31, 1919 – October 24, 1972) was an American professional baseball player who became the first African American to play in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the modern era. Robinson broke the baseball color line. When he debuted at first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. When the Dodgers signed Robinson, it marked the beginning of the end of racial segregation in professional baseball, which had treated black players as Negroes since the 1880s. was withdrawn in the league. Robinson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.

Shoes release date
Every Jackie Robinson Day is meaningful to Dodgers fans and baseball fans alike. However, this year marks the 75th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking MLB’s color barrier. Major League Baseball has a full schedule of events to celebrate the anniversary, including the annual tradition of all players wearing the number 42.
Nike is also remembering Robinson’s historic moment. The sports apparel giant announced that they will be releasing Jackie Robinson Dunk Loose to help celebrate the special occasion. She will be released on April 15 – Jackie Robinson Day.
The shoes appear to be a fitting tribute to Robinson. From the Dodgers-esque blue “75” to the tongue adorned, Nike did a good job. Kicksonfire.com gave fans a glimpse of the new sneakers.
Of course they are much more than that. The shoe also displays one of Robinson’s more powerful messages: “I am not concerned with your likes or dislikes. All I ask is that you respect me as a human being”.
