In an interview with Evan Barnes of Memphis Commercial Appeal, Morant stated that the hairstyle was born out of an accident after losing two bobby pins in the middle of the game.

“That look shouldn’t have been there. I misplaced my bobby pins and lost two of them during the game. I had hair all over my face so I had to tie it up in a ponytail.”

After changing his hairstyle, 21-year-old Morant suddenly got a monster finish to start the second half. Did the hair distract the Timberwolves’ defense? Or does the new ‘do give some new energy to the current NBA rookie of the year.

It’s time to decide which NBA teams got the 2019 NBA Draft right and which ones might like another shot at it.

Most players drafted in 2019 have played fewer than 82 career games, so we’re basically reorganizing this draft class with less than a season’s worth of information. Throw in 2019-20, interrupted by a four-month stagnation, bubble, a short off-season and a 2020-21 campaign that has been far from normal, and some potential crops have become harder to evaluate.

That’s a big reason why we’re going to prioritize capacity to the extreme. Because of so many unusual circumstances, we can’t let go of unproductive players. As you will see, we can drop them a few notches down the draft ladder – if only to give due credit to those who have managed to contribute during these last two years.

As a reminder, we are working strictly on a “best available player” basis. Team needs and fit should almost never be a factor in the draft, and we’re going to ignore them here.

One more note: We’re going to act as if there were still trades that shook things up in the draft of the night. So the New Orleans Pelicans, for example, will still swap the No. 4 pick received from the Los Angeles Lakers for the Atlanta Hawks’ No. 8, 17, and 35 picks.

The 2019 NBA Draft was held on June 20, 2019. It took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. National Basketball Association (NBA) teams alternately select amateur United States college basketball players and other qualified players, including international players. It was broadcast nationally on ESPN. State Farm was the presenting sponsor of the NBA Draft for the eighth year in a row.The draft was the first to introduce a new weighted lottery system in which the three worst teams each had a 14 percent chance of winning the lottery;  These teams were the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns. The lottery took place on May 14 during the NBA playoffs. Three of the four teams that held the top four picks of the draft this year moved up at least six places in the lottery, including the New Orleans Pelicans, who won the first pick with a 6 percent odds.

Ja Morant is one of the most breathtaking athletes in the NBA. The 22-year-old guard for the Memphis Grizzlies plays like his only limitation on the court is his imagination. To look at Morant is to see a 6’3 guard with a modest frame see the Giants regularly populate the paint in the NBA.There are times when even Morant’s near-miss in the air seems like the most thrilling thing in the league. When Morant does indeed end his most audacious plays, it is closer to a theological experience than most things in life. That’s exactly what happened against the Lakers on Sunday night.

Highlights

Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies face the Washington Wizards on Saturday. The Grizzlies have been in great form and are currently ranked third in the West. They are also on winning streak in three matches. The Wizards, meanwhile, haven’t had a great year, but they’re still looking for a play-in spot.

The Wizards entered the game after taking a 35-point lead against the Clippers. Before the Clippers made a historic comeback, that seemed to be the game in the bag. This doesn’t help their confidence and they are on a losing streak in 4 games. Ja Morant has been brilliant throughout the season, and this year he received his first All-Star selection.

Most basketball players don’t experience their hatred until they reach the NBA and eventually the spotlight is on them for the first time, but that was not the case for Morant. Dalzell, S.C. Growing up in the U.S., Morant faced a brutal hatred inside his own home.

Ja’s father T. Morant helped train him as a child and into his teens. But all the while, he was showing tough love to prepare his son for the next level.

“I really like negative energy,” Morant told reporters ahead of the 2019 NBA draft. “‘He hasn’t played against anyone, he’s too young, he can’t shoot.’ I love negative energy. It motivates me. It doesn’t really bother me because my father was my first hater, so if I can take it from him I can take it from anyone.
