Veteran auctioneer Hugh Adams collapsed while conducting the first season of the Indian Premier League auction in Bengaluru on Saturday but was found “fine” after a medical examination. Veteran sports presenter Charu Sharma was handed the auction duties for the remainder of the event as Admids received medical care after being convicted of low blood pressure. Lunch came early as the 60-year-old collapsed in the middle of proceedings amid an uproar inside the auction room. IPL has told through its official account that the condition of Adams is stable at the moment.

While Krunal Pandya has joined Lucknow Super Giants. In the marquee group of players, Shreyas Iyer bagged a huge amount of Rs 12.25 crore with KKR as expected. PBKS spent Rs 9.25 crore on Kagiso Rabada and Rs 8.25 crore for Shikhar Dhawan. Trent Boult was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 8 crore while Pat Cummins was brought back to KKR for Rs 7.25 crore. David Warner went back to his old side Delhi Capitals for INR 6.25 Crore. RR bought Ravichandran Ashwin for a bargain of Rs 5 crore. Faf du Plessis went to RCB for 7 crores.

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the IPL 2022 auction, which will be held in Bengaluru over the next two days, with 600 players being the biggest auction since 2018 and possibly the last of its kind. The auction starts at 12 noon IST, but you can follow all the build-up to the action here.

From uncapped domestic Indian cricketers to the biggest names in international cricket, a total of 1214 players had registered for the auction. However, the final list of players selected for the auction has been reduced to 600. Of these, 377 are Indian and 223 are foreign players.

Going into the auction, teams were given the option of retaining a maximum of four of their current players. However, teams were not allowed to retain more than 3 India and two foreign players. Also, a team can retain a maximum of two uncapped players in the list.
