Houston vs Tulane basketball: Prediction| Box score| History

The Cougars have been a little flaky lately, but they still lead the nation in field goal percentage defense, they’re still fourth in scoring D’s, and they’re always on top when they have to. They also have the ability to clamp.

Both SMU and Memphis were able to hit three and reach the free throw line, and that was enough to recover from two recent Houston losses. However, this was a deviation.

It takes a lot to get to 40% against this defense, and shooting well doesn’t do Tulane.

In general.

Green Wave doesn’t get enough rebounds and you don’t get enough from three – and forget about aggressive rebounds when they close – but…

why would tulane win
Tulane has been shooting for Roshni recently.

It was nowhere to be missed in the win over Tulsa, and it was brilliant against USF and Temple yielded lots of handy baskets when the ball was moved around.

The team wins when it shoots well and loses when it doesn’t – that doesn’t bode well for overcoming bad shooting days. It’s 8-1 when it makes 48% or more off the field, and that was a loss back in November.

Yes, yes, yes, Houston is so good defensively—again, it’s No. 1 in field goal defense in the nation—but if Tulane can just reach 45% and then count on a solid D of his own , so it would be perfect in this at home

NEW ORLEANS — Kyler Edwards and the 14th-ranked Houston Cougars are showing the type of flexibility and stamina that coach Calvin Sampson is pleased to see as near the postseason.

Edwards scored 14 of his 21 points in the second half as No. 14 Houston took control on Wednesday night on a way to 81-67 at the recently resurgent Tulane.

The Cougars’ seventh road win this season came on the heels of a double-overtime win at Wichita State just three days earlier.

“This team has a determination about him and a rigor about him that I really respect,” Sampson said. “For those guys to come out and play that hard in the second half when it was winning times – just respect. I’m around these kids every day, so at the moment they don’t surprise me anything.”

Tez Moore punctuated her 18-point performance with a two-handed alley-op dunk with just over a minute to go, and Fabian White Jr. had 12 points and three blocked shots for the Cougars (23- 4, 12-2 AAC), who scored 62% in the second half, including 6 of 13 from 3-point range.
