Republican Herschel Walker provided his explanation of air pollution at a campaign event over the weekend as he continued his efforts to win a Georgia Senate seat.

The 60-year-old College Football Hall of Famer began the discussion on climate change, saying, “In America, we have the cleanest air and cleanest water of anyone in the world.”

CNN reported that in 2021, IQAir found that air pollution in the United States exceeded World Health Organization guidelines by 2 to 3 times. Of the 6,475 cities analyzed by the company, only 222 had average air quality that was in line with WHO standards.

Walker said in his speech, “Since we don’t control the wind, our good wind decides to float in China’s bad air. So when China gets our good air, their bad wind blows. So this Onwards goes our good air space. Then – now we have to clean that back up.”

Herschelle Walker’s campaign publicly acknowledged this week that the Republican Senate nominee has three children from women he was not married to, in addition to his ex-wife’s son.

The Georgia GOP nominee’s admissions follow Tuesday’s report in the Daily Beast that Walker gave birth to a son more than a decade ago. The Beast reported that she had confirmed the identities of the boy and mother, and that the mother sued Walker to obtain a declaration of paternity and child support. According to the report, Walker had been ordered to pay child support since 2014.

And after the initial story, the Daily Beast published a new article Thursday reporting that Walker has two more children previously unknown to the public, including a 13-year-old son of a woman and an adult daughter born to another. Was. female while Walker was still in college.

College

Walker played college football at the University of Georgia, where he won the Heisman Trophy as a junior. He spent the first three seasons of his professional career with the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL) and was the league’s MVP during its final season in 1985. After turning to the USFL, Walker joined the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys, earning consecutive Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors from 1987 to 1988. In 1989, Walker was traded to the Minnesota Vikings, considered one of the most one-sided trades in NFL history and credited with founding the Cowboys dynasty. 1990s. He was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants before later ending his career with a second stint on the Cowboys. Walker was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999.

A report released earlier this year by global air quality tracking company IQAir showed that only 222 of the 6,475 cities analyzed met World Health Organization standards for air quality in 2021. This includes the US, where IQAir found that “air pollution exceeded WHO guidelines by 2 to 3 times.”)

For Walker, who is running against Georgia Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock, this absurd response to climate change is in keeping with the many self-created controversies he has faced recently.

There were reports that Walker claimed to be in law enforcement when he was not. and public acknowledgment of having three children with women he had not married. and his answer on gun control in the wake of the Uvalde, Texas, mass school shooting. and problems with their business records.

All of these events illustrate the gamble Republicans played when they backed Walker’s candidacy.

The bet was this: Sure, Walker is kind of a wild card and, as a first-time candidate, can be rough around the edges. But he was also a star football player at the University of Georgia and a legend in the state. It also didn’t hurt Walker’s reasoning that Donald Trump was an early and strong supporter.

On air pollution

Herschel Walker did not “wind” in favor of science during his US Senate campaign in Hall of Georgia on Saturday. But videos of what the former college and pro football star said about Covid-19 and air pollution in the campaign went viral.

As you can see in the following video tweeted by Stephen Fowler, who covers Georgia politics for GPB News, Walker claimed that COVID-19 was “made by China” and that the air in the US And the wind in China … well, you see for yourself what he said:
