Spread
The Hawks lead the play-in round with a 41-38 record, but they’ll need to score a few wins if they want to avoid a single-elimination or take home-court advantage. They are fresh from a 118-108 loss to the Raptors last night, breaking a five-game winning streak they had covered in every competition.
It has been another tough season for Washington who will miss the post season for the third time in the past four years. The Wizards lost their best player Bradley Beal (23.2 points per game) to a season-ending injury in January and then closed Kyle Kuzma (17.1 ppg) a few weeks ago.
Predictions
Given our last two predictions, it makes sense that we’re most confident about the Wizards that their team total is 111.5.
The Hawks are 22nd in the league in defense scoring with 112.5 points per game, and that number has grown to 115.8 ppg in their last 18 competitions.
Wizards averages 113.5 PPG on 49% shoots since the beginning of March. Although they were held on to 102 points by the Celtics on Sunday, Boston is the top-rated defensive team in the league, and should be pretty easy to score against Atlanta.
Keep in mind that Viz dropped more than 120 points in the last 10 days against stingy defenses like the Warriors and Mavs.
Choose: Wizards team total over 111.5 (-115 at Bet365)
