Press conference

In his weekly press conference on Tuesday, TCU Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson said he is focused on finding a new fight for the Horned Frogs going into the big conference game against Texas.
by Nicholas Howard

In his weekly press conference, coach Gary Patterson stated that there were issues with the offense not being more efficient at certain moments of the game, and that poor communication defense led to him losing several big plays. He added versatility to his offense with two great halfbacks in Texas, an explosive back field and a legitimate double-threat quarterback in Casey Thompson.

According to Patterson, there is a new focus on both sides of the ball to help him overcome the high rolling longhorn. This is a great opportunity for the TCU offense to dominate Texas, like how Arkansas crushed Texas.

Patterson was also very eager to find a new way to get the job done. “A different path has to be found,” he said. Longhorn’s staff consists of several coaches who either coach at TCU or have coached against TCU for many years. Therefore, Patterson said the emphasis is on creating a detailed game plan this week. This is very important for horned frogs. Going into this week, Patterson is looking for versatility, good health and players who are going to make the play so they can walk away with a crucial conference win.
