Gareth Bale was once again a hero on Sunday night as he helped lead his team to their first World Cup in 64 years.

The Wales captain put up another strong performance against Ukraine, and it was his first-half free-kick that put his side in front as Andrey Yarmolenko pulled it into his own net.

Much speculation has surrounded Bale’s future in recent weeks, with last week extending a nine-year spell with Real Madrid as he secured a fifth Champions League final against Liverpool despite not coming off the bench. And he certainly won’t be retiring anytime soon, as he said straight after the match ended.

So, with Wales’ place in the World Cup now secured, what does the future hold for Bale? He has no shortage of suitors, but a few teams have made their way into the pecking order, at least as far as the bookmakers are concerned.

This stands out as the 1/3 odds-on favorite Cardiff City. While it may seem strange to exclude the five-time Champions League winner from the championship, it could be good for Bale to move to his hometown club.
