Is starting today:
Jalen Hurts has done more than enough to prove he should be the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022, evidenced by Philadelphia reaching the playoffs in a transition year.
While Hurts has the starting quarterback job secure, the Eagles have a good No. 2 quarterback waiting for an opportunity to start again.
Gardner Minshew reportedly asked Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni what it would take to start in Philadelphia after his performance in Week 13.
Number 2 quote:
“In preparation for the competition, I haven’t taken a s— in weeks. No. 2 isn’t an option for me,” Minshew told Long earlier this week on his Green Light with Chris Long podcast.
Needless to say, NFL fans and even former players loved Minshew’s quote for its absurdity.
Minshew clearly doesn’t want to miss out on that opportunity and seems to be taking the competition between him and the rookie seriously. He spoke with former NFL defense lineman Chris about his mindset earlier this week and dished out a hilarious quote about his level of preparation.

Flint Minshew
On his way out of the stadium Minshew managed to finally find his father, Flint Minshew, and their embrace and ensuing celebration was an all-time awesome moment.
From player entrances all the way to the parking lot post-game on Sunday, Gardner Minshew put on an absolute show for Eagles fans in his debut as the team’s starting quarterback.
And while the touchdowns to Dallas Goedert were great, as were the third down conversions and the win, the best part of Minshew’s day absolutely came after the final whistle.
