Vacuum pose:

It has been done for aesthetic purposes in bodybuilding competitions (to suck the abdomen in, making it appear less bulgy). It can be done to enhance overall core stability and strength. It is used in belly dance to actively perform flutters, engaging various fibres in the muscle selectively.

It’s an exercise, but it’s not an attractive exercise: You breath out, removing the air from your stomach while tightening your abs and sucking them up and under your rib cage.

Measurements:

“I just got beat by a chicken with 17-inch arms,” Zane says Arnold said of him at the time.

Zane was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania on June 28, 1942. He started bodybuilding as a teenager after reading Muscle Magazine.

He went from 130 pounds (59 kg) at 14 to 160 pounds (73 kg) at 17 through weightlifting.[6] In 1964, he received a Bachelor of Science from Wilkes University

Diet:

Diet Smart

There were always fewer carbohydrates in my diet than there was protein. I kept protein at one gram per pound of body weight, usually between 190 and 200 grams per day. My carbs stayed between 70 and 150 grams, and fat made up around 25% of my total calories. I never went above 3,000 calories.

Now:

Zane retired from competitive bodybuilding in 1983, where he began operating a personal coaching business with his wife. … Now aged 73, Zane spends his days tending to his website and playing small roles in bodybuilding documentaries.

A three-time Mr Olympia, Zane understandably looks a little different now to his late 1970s peak, but proved on his Instagram that his knowledge and dedication to staying in shape remains as strong as ever.
