Francis Tiafo Jr. (born January 20, 1998) is an American professional tennis player. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) ranks Tiafo highly as number one. In 24 singles, on 8 August 2022, and No. 160 in doubles on November 1, 2021. Tiafo won his first and only ATP title at the 2018 Delray Beach Open, becoming the youngest American man to win the tournament on the ATP Tour since Andy Roddick in 2002.

Parents
Francis Tiafoe’s parents are mother Alfina Kamara and father Frances Tiafoe Sr., who emigrated from Sierra Leone and raised tennis star in Maryland.
To escape the civil war in his home country, his father emigrated from Sierra Leone to England in 1988 and to the US in 1993. Tiafoe’s mother joined him three years later.
Before leaving Sierra Leone she told The Washington Post: “I was going to a funeral every week.”
Speaking to the BBC about her parents’ journey from Sierra Leone, Frances said: “It humbled me and made me serious. It came to my mind very quickly that I wanted to take care of not only myself but my family.” I’m using tennis to help because they’ve sacrificed a lot.”
Coach
He finally began to focus on the sport at the age of five, when coach Misha Kouznetsov took a personal interest in him, noting his skill and dedication. Kouznetsov was responsible for training and sponsoring him through Juniors, until he moved to Boca Raton in Florida to continue his training at the USTA National Training Center. Francis turned pro later in the same year (2015).
When the player left for the USTA, he had already made a name for himself during his junior career. And it was then that Francis achieved the record for becoming the youngest player to win the tournament at the Orange Bowl in 2013, just a month before the tennis player turned 16.
He has achieved a career-high ranking of 24th and currently holds this position with a career ATP title.
Prediction
Currently ranked 16th in a single race to turn, Marin Cilic has had a revival season in 2022. That said, Alcarz has beaten Cilic twice in straight sets on hard courts in the past six months. The young Spaniard has the confidence and form to win the title in Queens. His consistency put him ahead of the Croatian without stopping.
Alkaraz is yet to drop a set and has registered 47 wins this year. Former champion Cilic has been brilliant in three games and this year has been great at 28-16 too, Cilic is capable but you’ll trust Alcaraz more right now – he looks like a world champion.
Alcaraz made a signature performance in the third round, sending off Jenson Brooksby in straight sets and establishing himself as a title threat in New York. 2014 champion Cilic should be another rite of passage for the young Spaniard. The 33-year-old has looked solid in his run so far, beating Dan Evans in four sets in his previous match, but has lost to Alcaraz twice earlier this season in Miami and Cincinnati. I hope the 19-year-old will confirm that result on the Grand Slam stage.
