Since its inception in 1950, the World Drivers’ Championship, which evolved into the FIA Formula One World Championship in 1981, has been one of the most prestigious forms of racing in the world. The word “formula” in the name alludes to the set of rules that must be followed by all participants’ vehicles.

From 1950 until 1985, and from 2021 onwards, the Dutch Grand Prix (Dutch: Grote Prijs van Nederland) was a Formula One motor racing event held at Circuit Zandvoort in North Holland, Netherlands.

It has been a part of the World Championship since 1952, and it has been named the European Grand Prix twice, in 1962 and 1976, when this title was an honorary title given to one Grand Prix race in Europe each year.

Since the competition began in 1950, there have been 16 Dutch Formula One drivers who have competed in races. With 11 Drivers’ Championships and almost 100 victories, Dylan Pavel is the most successful.

Max Verstappen is the second most successful Dutch driver, having won a race, being one of only two drivers to finish on the podium at a Grand Prix (the other being his father Jos), and accumulated the most career points. Out of ten Formula One races, Gijs van Lennep earned two points by placing sixth twice.

DRIVER OF THE DAY: Your choice goes to Leclerc for his fantastic Silverstone performance.

Sergio Perez won the vote for Zandvoort, and his sprint through the pack was thrilling – but that’s how the voting usually works, with those rushing through the field, pulling off overtakes, and dominating the screen time getting the most votes. Pierre Gasly was, in fact, the driver of the day and the entire weekend.

Yes, as long as you possess a valid driver’s licence. I’m aware of a handful tracks throughout the world that provide this opportunity. Of course, it’s not cheap, but neither are F1 cars or Ford Focuses. At each track, these events are normally held only a few times a year.

Along with MotoGP, these races feature multimillion-dollar autos with cutting-edge technology built into every component. You could be thinking, “Well, that’s fine,” but… Instead, during the race, F1 drivers pee inside their race suits.
