Floyd Mayweather will once again team up with Rizin as he faces Mikuru Asakura on September 24. The fight takes place inside the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

Turning pro in 1996, Mayweather has won titles in the super-featherweight, lightweight, super-lightweight, welterweight and light-middleweight divisions. A perfect 50-0, Mayweather initially retired in 2015 after beating Andre Berto. Returning in 2017, Mayweather defeated MMA star Conor McGregor via TKO.

Since then, he has participated in several exhibition bouts. In 2018, he teamed up with Rizin for the first time and defeated young kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa via TKO. Mayweather has also faced Logan Paul and former training partner Don Moore in non-scoring matches.

Asakura, 29, made her pro MMA debut in 2012. The Ring’s Featherweight and Lightweight Champion, Asakura has primarily fought for Rizin. He is on a two-fight winning streak with the promotion and holds a 16–3 record with a no-contest.

Floyd Mayweather catches some punches from Mikuru Asakura in the headliner of Super Rizin. But in the end, his speed and power were too much for an MMA legend, and the two-punch combo brought TKO at the end of the second.

Mayweather later said, “I’m happy to be here, thanks again.” “I’m glad we were able to cheer on the fans tonight. Thanks for having me. I’ll be back.”

Asakura provided the excitement in a three-round exhibition bout, with some fine body shots to Mayweather and a straight right that turned the undefeated boxer’s head. He chased Mayweather as the second round ended, trying to seal the deal.

Instead, he grabbed a left hook and a right straight that sent him to swoop on the mat. When he woke up, he stumbled to his feet, and referee Kenny Bayless waved the fight to the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
