Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr. (né Sinclair; February 24, 1977) is an American boxing promoter and former professional boxer. He currently owns a team in the NASCAR Cup Series called The Money Team Racing. As a professional boxer he competed between 1996 and 2017, retiring with an undefeated record and winning 15 major world championships from super featherweight to light middleweight. This includes the Ring Magazine title in five weight classes and the Lineal Championship (twice at welterweight) in four weight classes. As an amateur boxer, he won a bronze medal in the featherweight division at the 1996 Olympics, three U.S. Golden Gloves Championship (at light flyweight, flyweight, and featherweight), and the U.S. Championships in featherweight. Won the national championship.

The day has come for boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather to return to the Land of the Rising Sun for an exhibition match against Mikuru Asakura, a 16-3 MMA fighter in Super Rizin—which, at least not at Saitama Super Arena . Scheduled bell time is 11:00 p.m. ET, and the event can be viewed on fite.tv for a PPV cost of $29.99.


Since retiring from boxing, the 50-0 phenom in Floyd has been on a world tour full of appearances against people who aren’t really in the same ring as him. Nonetheless, Mayweather continues to do a show for fans, and is still providing once in a lifetime opportunities to those who otherwise would never have hit the headlines with him.

Next Fight

Floyd Mayweather is set to return to the ring after defeating Don Moore in May. “Money” Mayweather will compete against MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura in another exhibition bout on September 24 (September 25 in Australia).

The match will take place at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan. Mayweather has once again teamed up with RIZIN to create a super RIZIN event with RIZIN 38.

Turning pro in 1996, Mayweather has won titles in the super-featherweight, lightweight, super-lightweight, welterweight and light-middleweight divisions. An outstanding 50-0, Mayweather, an excellent defensive fighter, initially retired in 2015 after defeating Andre Berto. Returning in 2017, Mayweather defeated MMA star Conor McGregor via TKO.
