FIA Formula 1 race director Niels Witich has told all teams that they should confirm that their drivers are complying with the underwear and jewelery regulations during the event.

Before the start of Miami Grand Prix practice yesterday, Wittich informed all 10 teams that the declaration would be amended to “include investigations relating to compliance with the International Sporting Code (ISC), Chapter III, specifically Appendix L of Article 2. Underwear

The International Sporting Code states that drivers must wear “long underwear” as well as other fire-resistant clothing that conforms to FIA standards. It also states that the wearing of jewelery “in the form of body piercing or metal neck chains” is prohibited during the competition. With the new changes to the Scrutinying Declaration Form, teams must declare their drivers to comply with both requirements during the race weekend.
