The Australian Grand Prix is an annual motor racing event under contract to host Formula One until 2025. Leclerc set the starting pace at 1m19.391s, which was quickly defeated by his Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz Jr. at 1m19.179s. But Leclerc topped his second push lap of 1m18.881s, with Verstappen finishing second, just 0.044s in the balance.
Verstappen then grabbed P1 on his third attempt at 1m18.580s, a quarter of a second ahead of Perez and Ferrari.
