Evander Frank Kane is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League. Kane was selected fourth overall in the first round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers.

The NHL will be investigating San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane after his wife, Anna, alleged that he has bet on his own games.
Kane’s wife published a string of posts to her Instagram account about her husband, which included his alleged gambling addiction.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Kane had filed for bankruptcy as he apparently had more than $26 million worth of debt under Chapter 7 bankruptcy in a California court.

Anna continues in the remaining posts with accusations that Kane has been throwing games while betting on them, calling him a “compulsive gambling addict.” While betting on the Sharks to win would generally be acceptable, betting against yourself as an athlete is illegal, as fixing to lose a game is much easier than fixing to win it.
Daughter:
The Kanes announced the birth of their daughter, Kensington Ava, on Thursday on social media. Evander Kane said his daughter was born on July 3.
Boxing:
Evander’s father Perry was also a hockey player that had solid junior and university careers, but when his time as a hockey player came to an end, he followed his passion for boxing.
Kane says he actually grew up around boxing, training in the sport as a teenager — and he tells us it wouldn’t take long for him to get the muscle memory back. And, he says if either of the Paul bros accept a celeb fight with him.
