Net Worth
Esteban Ocon (born 17 September 1996 in Malleville, Eure, Upper Normandy, France) is a French racing driver with a net worth of $5 million who drove for Force India in the 2017 and 2018 Formula One seasons, in 2019 as a test driver for Mercedes. Served, Renault in 2020 and currently drives for Alpine in 2021. The Frenchman spent the first half of the 2016 season testing for Renault, part of the Mercedes Young Drivers programme, but was forced to leave after leaving Rio Haryanto as a reserve driver.
Salary
According to a previous Esteban Ocon contract, the Alpine driver reportedly earned a salary of $5 million (£3.65 million). Considering his impressive performance during this year, one can only expect the French racer to get a better package with his new bumper multi-year contract. Meanwhile, his teammate and double world champion, Fernando Alonso, is believed to be on a staggering $20 million (£14.6 million) contract.
2019
On 23 November 2018, it was announced that Ocon would join Mercedes as their reserve driver for 2019, when it became clear that he would be replaced by Lance Stroll at Racing Point – a result that was confirmed within a week. Happened after Ocon did not participate in the Grand Prix weekend during the year.
Esteban Ocon celebrated the best qualifying of his Formula One career at the Belgian Grand Prix on Saturday but indicated he had no future at Force India under the team’s new owners.
Baku
Esteban Okan stated that he “cannot catch a break here” as a boost pressure loss saw him retire early at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
After a recent improvement in form for Alpine, Okan faced a slightly more difficult task as he prepared to race Baku in P12.
But Ocon’s afternoon lasted only one lap before he was driven back into the pits, where Alpine mechanics drove his A521 back to the garage.
And speaking to the media, Okan said that “boost pressure loss” forced his retirement, leading to back-to-back DNFs for Okan in Baku.
“I think there’s no braking here, it’s very difficult,” he told reporters at TV Penn.
“We had a boost pressure loss, so we unfortunately had to retire the car. This was not our weekend, that’s clear.
