He qualified for the 2017 World Games in Wrocaw, Poland, where he competed in inline speed skating in various distances on road and track. She also qualified to compete in the 500 meters long track speed skating event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

Erin Jackson made history on Sunday with a sensational run in the women’s 500m speedskating final at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
He achieved many landmarks with his performance in Beijing.
Jackson became the first black woman to win a speedskating medal at the Olympics, the first American individual women’s medal in a speedskating event since 2002, and achieved something that has eluded American women since the great Bonnie Blair last did so in 1994: victory. Gold in 500m.

Yet the 29-year-old from Balmy Ocala, Florida, knew this moment was special, her chance to truly make an impact on generations to come.
She will forever be known as the first black woman to win a speedskating medal at the Winter Olympics—and a gold medal at that.
“Hopefully, it has an effect,” Jackson said. “Hopefully, we’ll see more minorities, especially in the United States, going out and trying these winter sports.”

On Sunday in Beijing, Jackson overtook the competition in the 500 meters with a time of 37.04 seconds to become the first American woman to win a medal in the individual race since the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City.
It’s almost hard to believe Jackson’s rise as she was a national championship-winning inline skater five years ago. He turned to speedskating and with a few months of experience under his belt, he returned to the U.S. for the 2018 Pyeongchang Games. Team formed.
