The equestrian events at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France are held at the Château de Versailles. There are eleven gender-free events: ten individual events and one mixed team event.

Medals

The United States equestrian team won three more medals in Paralympic dressage on Saturday, as Fiona Howard and Rebecca Hart won their third gold medal of the Paris Games.

Howard won the Grade II individual freestyle in her first Paralympics and veteran Hart won Grade III. Earlier, teammate Kate Shoemaker won bronze in Grade IV.

Riders compete in five grades, with Grade I being for the most severely disabled riders.

Howard and Hart earlier this week won individual gold medals and helped the US win the team event on Friday.

American swimmer Jessica Long extended her vast Paralympic medal collection to 31 with gold in the S8 100-meter butterfly.

She won in 1 minute, 10.59 seconds at the La Defense Arena, finishing one second ahead of Viktoria Ishchiulova. Alice Tai of Britain was third.

Long, 32, also won the women’s 400 freestyle on Wednesday.

Her Paralympic career began when she was 12 and she won three golds at the 2004 Athens Games.

S8 is for swimmers with limb deficits. Long is a double amputee.

Results

Team USA continued their stellar para equestrian performance at the Paris 2024 Paralympics and won team gold on Friday.

The US team won their third title at the Paris 2024 Para Equestrian event, with team members Fiona Howard (Diamond Dunes) and Rebecca Hart (Floretina) adding their individual gold medals. Roxanne Trunnell, who took silver in Grade I with Fan Tastico H.

Howard’s astonishing 80.000% was the highest individual score of the Paris 2024 Paralympics to date and was enough to ensure victory.

The Netherlands, the reigning world champions, finished in silver medal position, while Germany took bronze.

Italy finished fourth, with hosts France in fifth – one place better than their Tokyo 2020 finish. Great Britain – who had won every team title since 1996 – finished sixth.
