Speaks romanian
Emma Radukanu speaks three languages; English, Mandarin and Romanian.
In recent weeks she has demonstrated her fluency in other languages, including speaking in Mandarin while interviewing a winner at the US Open.
She said in Mandarin, addressing the crowd of spectators and those watching at home: “Hello everyone, I want to say thank you guys and I hope you can enjoy my tennis.
“I’m thrilled to win. Love you all, see you.”
Then during a hiatus at the Transylvania Open training session in Romania, she told the home crowd that she was shy to speak Romanian because she is not very fluent, but hoped that the more time she spent in the country, the better.
Where was she born and what is her legacy?
While Emma represents the UK in her tournaments, she was actually born in Canada and spent two years there before moving to England with her parents.
She has a Romanian father and a Chinese mother, her maternal grandmother lives in Bucharest and Emma regularly visited Romania to visit her as a child.
The 18-year-old told reporters at the Transylvania Open to be held from 23-31 October 2021 that she hopes to spend some time there after the competition ends.
“I love Romania. I used to visit my grandmother once or twice a year, who grows up and lives in Bucharest. It’s an hour flight from here,” she said. “When the tournament is done, I would love to be able to meet him on my way to Bucharest. I haven’t seen him for two and a half years.”

Emma Radukanu has admitted that she dreams of winning Wimbledon, when her stunning US Open victory propelled her to worldwide superstardom.
The 18-year-old British star stunned the tennis world through qualifying and won ten matches in her second major tournament to win her first Grand Slam title.
After reaching the fourth round in his debut appearance at Wimbledon this year, Radukanu has already been mentioned as one of the favorites to win the title at the All England Club next summer.

“I haven’t given myself that, ‘I’m going to win so many Grand Slams’. I think it’s too ambitious,” she said. “I wasn’t expecting to win it, but to win this just one was one of my goals.
“I would say, if I had picked either one, Wimbledon would probably have been my choice. Simply because it’s such an iconic event at home, and with all the domestic support I think it will be very special.”
Radukanu spoke Chinese during some interviews with China Daily and his appeal to fans in that country is certainly huge, his mother being from the country.
“I can’t wait to come and play in China next year,” said Radukanu, who talked about his love of table tennis in a fascinating interview.
“I want to say thank you for all the support. My mother is from North East China. I often visit family members like my grandmother.
Vs Ana Bodgan
Emma Radukanu defeated Anna Bogdan in straight sets to reach the quarterfinals of the Transylvania Open on Thursday.
On Tuesday, the 18-year-old scored her first WTA win since last month’s US Open win, and she followed up here with a 6-3 6-4 win over her Romanian rival, playing on home soil. 1 Radukanu, whose father is Romanian, was forced to fight in the first game in Cluj, saving three break points en route to the fight for service. The second game, however, was much more straightforward for Radukanu, who recorded an early break for Love to take a 2–0 lead. However, there was no room for complacency by the Briton, and he displayed an awareness of that fact by mixing up his game well in the third game, kicking off another catch with a clean serve and volley.
