(CNN) Emma Radukanu was forced to retire from her first round match at the Guadalajara Open due to a hip injury.
Radukanu ended the match – already the longest on the WTA Tour this season – at three hours and 36 minutes after going 5-7, 7-6, 4-3 to Australia’s Daria Saville. Immediately after receiving treatment during the timeout.

Amrit Magar, 35, who said he walked 23 miles to the US Open champion’s home in London and then took his father’s shoe – thinking it belonged to Radukanu – as a souvenir, told Bromley magistrates court last month. I was found guilty of stalking.

So I think looking back, just to see how far I’ve come , and their support, their support for bringing me to this level, I truly respect [them] and I am very grateful for the sacrifices they have made,” she remarked.
