Prediction
Davydovich Fokina’s 15-17 record this year doesn’t do justice to his abilities. He has beaten a lot of good players, and ran incredibly well in the final in Monte Carlo, which represents his top. But they are as inconsistent as they are, and therefore difficult to predict. Sousa has been pretty mediocre, which is what he is at this point in his career. He will defeat the bad version of Davydovich Fokina, and he will lose to the good version. Without knowing which version of the Spaniard will appear, I’ll have to pick him on the basis of what he’s up to, with wins over Djokovic, Fritz, Herkaz, de Minaur and Dimitrov this year.
Coach
Rusuvuori began playing tennis at the age of five when a tennis coach saw her playing badminton with her mother Eva and convinced her to switch sports (ATP).
Emil Rusuvuori is coached by Italian Federico Ricci, who has coached since 2002 and formerly coached Rusuvuori’s compatriot Jarko Nieminen.
Rusuvuori would like to follow in the footsteps of his compatriot Nimineen, who reached a career-high ranking of 13 in the world and won two singles titles.
Nieminen reached three Grand Slam quarterfinals during his career, but he lost twice in the last eight to Rafael Nadal and once to Lleyton Hewitt.
Those are the standards and records that Rusuvuori will be looking to match and surpass under Rikki’s tutelage.
