Duke freshman Paolo Banchero and sophomore Mark Williams were presented by Wendy’s at the John R. Wooden has been named on the Precision Top 50 Watch List for the Award, while Banchero has also been featured on the Precision Watch List for Jersey Mike’s Naismith Player of the Year award. Duke is one of 12 programs with several players selected at the national level.

While this year will be his 41st season as head coach of Duke basketball, it will also be Mike Krzyzewski’s final year as head coach.
Koch would retire as the most winning coach in NCAA men’s basketball history, with 1,170 wins in a total of 46 seasons as a basketball coach. Of these, 1,097 wins are in the name of Blue Devils.
There are high hopes for Coach’s final year, especially since the Blue Devils didn’t make it to the NCAA March Madness Tournament in March 2021 until March 2021. Improvements are expected this season, while they play center stage for their historic coach’s final year.

Duke University formally announced John Shire as the next head coach of the men’s basketball program in a press conference at the historic Cameron Indoor Stadium on Friday morning. Following the retirement of Mike Krzyzewski, the skiers will take over the reins of the prestigious event in April 2022.
Duke, a 33-year-old skier, will be the 20th head coach in men’s basketball history and, at the age of 35, the youngest men’s basketball head coach at a Power Conference institution when the 2022–23 season begins. One of the most respected assistant coaches in college basketball, Scheyer has spent eight years on Krzyzewski’s staff and was promoted to head coach in 2018.
Roster
On June 2, 2021, the school announced that Krzyzewski would be retiring after the completion of the 2021–22 season after 42 years as Duke’s head coach and 47 years of coaching. Associate head coach John Scherer was named head coach, awaiting the team’s new head coach at the end of the season.
In a limited season due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Blue Devils finished the 2020-21 season 13-11, 9-9 in ACC play in 10th place. His season came to an end with his withdrawal from the ACC tournament due to positive COVID-19 tests within the programme. [3] As a result, the Blue Devils failed to receive bids for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1995, ending the second-longest active streak of NCAA appearances.
