Golden State Warriors forward Drummond Green was arrested on July 10 in East Lansing, Michigan after allegedly assaulting him.

MLive.com’s Brendan F. Quinn first reported the news on July 11. Police later confirmed the arrest, according to Ivan Cernofsky of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The East Lansing Police Department gave a preliminary statement to ESPN.com’s Ethan Sherwood Strauss regarding the arrest:

We are confirming that Drummond Green was arrested for an attack in our downtown business district at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The victim was a male. It was basically a dispute between two people. There is no injury. He was released on Sunday on a $200 bond. And he has 10 days to appear and then the prosecution will continue from there.

Poole

He reported the Drummond Green-Jordan Poole brawl at Warriors practice on Wednesday was serious. Fortunately for the Golden State, it appears that cooler heads will soon prevail.

Shams Charania and Anthony Slater of The Athletic first reported a “hot” incident involving Greene and Poole in practice, which resulted in Greene striking Poole forcibly, before the two quickly parted ways. The Athletic also reported that internal discipline could be imminent for Green.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported shortly after, citing sources, that Greene actually punched Poole, who was not hurt by the incident, and finished his workout.

Punch

Golden State Warriors All-Star Drummond Green threw a punch at teammate Jordan Poole during practice on Wednesday, sources told ESPN.

Sources said that the two players had a verbal spat before some pushing, which escalated when Green took a swing and made contact with the pool. Team officials are reviewing the matter.

Sources said Poole was not hurt by the punch and completed his workout before leaving the practice venue on Wednesday.

Green has a history of challenging teammates, past and present, in practice and sports settings. It is possible that Green was given some punishment for carrying on the practice encounter on Wednesday.
