In the video, it starts to become abundantly clear that Drummond Greene totally just sucker punched Jordan Poole. As the two were chatting, Drummond got in Poole’s face and Poole pushed him to walk away. Pushing was nothing out of the ordinary, it happens all the time in NBA games. However, without being squared up, Drummond suddenly punches Poole in the face and engages.
Yesterday, Warriors GM Bob Myers noted that Drummond Greene probably won’t miss any games at the event and that “things like that happen.” However, after watching the footage, it would be hard not to let Drummond Green miss any games after a sucker punch like this. The fact that he apologized means the Warriors are headed in the right direction, but it will be interesting to see how Jordan Poole reacts to this move forward.
