Ejected
Drummond Green was in danger of being pulled out of Game 2 after engaging with Jaylen Brown just before halftime.
In the second quarter, Green fouled Brown in a 3-point effort, causing both players to fall to the floor. While on the ground, the elder of the warriors placed his feet on Brown and patted him in the back as well.
This angered Brown, so he confronted Green. As anger began to flare up, the pair exchanged words.
Officials reviewed the play to see if any technical glitches needed to be assessed. Green had already picked up a technical earlier in the game and another would have kicked him out of the game. However, the officials opted not to give him a second.
According to Steve Javi, a former NBA official and current rules analyst on ESPN, officials could have called technicals on both players, but officials took Green’s first technical into account and decided he shouldn’t get the second because of it.
