Donovan Mitchell Jr. (born September 7, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals. He was selected by the Denver Nuggets as the 13th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and was traded to the Utah Jazz on draft night. During his rookie season, Mitchell was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and won the 2018 Slam Dunk Contest. Mitchell is a three-time NBA All-Star.

Thousands of fans flock to the Top Shot online platform to purchase short videos of dramatic scenes from professional basketball games, as a new virtual marketplace enjoys surprising success among collectors, sports fans and art lovers. To the untrained observer, a video clip showed NBA superstar LeBron James in another of his brilliant moves; But it didn’t last more than a few dozen seconds. On Top Shot, however, it immediately became a collector’s item, selling for an attractive $208,000 on Monday.
He also has Rookie of the Year runner-up Evan Mobley. It gives them staying power. Utah is reshaping the roster with trades in the off-season. First Rudy Gobert and now Donovan Mitchell. Utah has 13 lightly protected or unprotected first round picks by 2029. He also has a couple of first-round appearances from 2022, including 7-foot Walker Kessler and Kansas’ Agbaji.
Utah still wants to field older players or veterans. Names include Mike Connelly, Jordan Clarkson and Bojan Bogdanovic. Cleveland’s president of basketball operations, Kobe Altman, and the Jazz were in the news last week. However, the talks ended when no mutual agreement was reached between the two sides.
However, Altman went back to Utah GM Justin Zanick on Tuesday morning and started talking again. An agreement was reached between them within the next 48 hours. Utah wanted some property, and New York.

College
Mitchell chose to wear the number 45 on his jersey in praise of Michael Jordan, who carried the same number throughout his baseball career and early in his NBA return in 1995. As a freshman at the University of Louisville, Mitchell started out in no time. He averaged 7.4 points, 1.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds for five games and the season.
In his second season, Mitchell averaged 15.6 points, 2.7 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 46.3 percent from the floor as well as 35.4 from the back of the arc and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line. He was named to the First Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference. Although he didn’t immediately hire an agent, Mitchell made the announcement on the heels of his sophomore campaign for the 2017 NBA draft.
