Speed

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf ran the 100-meter dash in 10.36 seconds at the USATF Golden Games and Distance Open in Walnut, Calif., on Sunday, finishing ninth in his heat. His time was the third slowest of the 17 entrants in the men’s 100-meter dash.

Draft

As a freshman at Ole Miss in 2016, Metcalf appeared in the first two games of the season before suffering a foot injury which ended his season. He was granted a redshirt following his injury. He had two receptions for 14 yards with both of the receptions going for touchdowns. In 2017, he had 39 receptions for 646 yards and seven touchdowns.

During the 2018 season, Metcalf had 26 receptions for 569 yards before sustaining a season-ending neck injury against Arkansas.  After his 2018 season, Metcalf declared for the 2019 NFL Draft, forgoing his last two years of college football. He finished his career with 67 receptions for 1,228 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Fantasy

Metcalf connected with Russell Wilson for the first score of the game on a 19-yard touchdown in the second quarter. He later became Geno Smith’s best friend when he took over in the fourth quarter, hauling in two big passes including a 23-yard touchdown to cap a 98-yard drive. He now has a touchdown in three straight games and in four of five games on the season.

Playoffs

If we learned anything about D.K. Metcalf on Sunday night, it’s that he’s more than just the famous Ole Miss muscle picture that made its rounds on social media prior to the 2019 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4, 229-pound wideout fell to the last pick in the second round, but has begun to emerge into a superstar.

Metcalf caught seven passes for 160 yards and a touchdown in the 17-9 wild-card victory over the Philadelphia Eagles — which was the Seahawks’ franchise record for receiving yards in a playoff game, as well as the NFL playoff record for any rookie. Russell Wilson always had a downfield weapon in Tyler Lockett, but Metcalf is the one who stole the show in Seattle’s first postseason game.

Is injured

DK Metcalf

The Seahawks wrapped up their practice week and DK Metcalf has come off the injury report. He should be a full-go on Sunday against the 49ers.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice due to a foot injury. Metcalf did not appear on the injury report after Wednesday’s practice.
