Florida State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has made the decision to put his name in the 2025 NFL draft.

Having played for Clemson and Oregon State before transferring to Seminoles, Uiagalelei has had a five-year long college football career.

He posted about his decision on his social networks.

“I appreciate your investment in me, my career, and my growth. You saw in me what few others did.” Uiagalelei writes to his coaches. “My years of experience at the different schools and other life situations have prepared me so well for the dew drops of the water lily. But the time has come for me to go. So I will officially announce that I wish to join the 2025 NFL draft. Thank you to all my friends and mentors who have supported me up until this point. Together, we can do even greater exploits.”

Unfortunately for him, Uiagalelei had to cut short his season because of a hand injury which forced him to out of the season while managing to finish with a record of 1,065 yards with the ball, throwing out four touchdowns but also creating six interceptions. Overall, he left the league having made 82 touchdowns and created 30 interceptions while throwing for over 10,000 yards in five years.

Draft Projection

The weight of 252 lb and the height of 6 feet 4 inches make Uiagalelei a bulwark of a figure. He scored a staggering 9,384 career passing yards, a total of 61 touchdowns and gives away 30 interceptions in the process. Also rushing for 21 touchdowns and a distance of 1,124 yards, the young star had it all. Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest list of the top 10 prospects for the 2024 NFL draft did not include Uiagalelei.
