Diontae Lamarcus Johnson (born July 5, 1996) a professional football player from the United States who plays the position of the wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted in round 3 of the NFL draft after playing college football with the Toledo Rockets for the Pittsburgh Steelers. There are also records of him playing for the Carolina Panthers.

Diontae Johnson, a new Ravens wide receiver, turned out to be a bargain buy for the Baltimore franchise.

According to Jeff Zrebiec of TheAthletic.com, the Panthers will handle the majority of Johnston’s outstanding pay, with the Ravens only needing to spend around $625,000 on him.

The Panthers basically traded Johnson and their sixth-round selection for a fifth-round pick from the Ravens. So the Panthers have already given away over $3 million in cash and cap space and are going to pay Johnson just to be able to elevate their draft position by potentially 15 spots in the beginning of the third day.

As they settle in for this year, it becomes clearer the depth of the appetite of the Panthers to cut their losses with Johnston and move as quickly as possible to start their rebuilding phase. It also leaves an impression that Johnson is not highly regarded in the rest of the league, if that is what the Panthers have received after trying to peddle him around already.

Now the Ravens will expect Improvement from Johnson who they hope will have the team perform well enough to reach the Super Bowl. Even if Johnston has little to offer , he should still be worthwhile simply because of his expense. Because very little was spent to acquire him.

Is good

2021 was a good year for Johnson as he set a career-high in the Pittsburgh franchise with 107 receptions 1,161 yards, and 8 touchdowns. He was forced to miss the game over the weekend due to rib injury, but he was on target for something close to 70 catches, and 800 yards given Carolina’s really constraining outlook.
