Dillon Brooks is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association. He played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks, where he was named a unanimous Second Team All-American and earned the conference player of the year honor in the Pac-12 in 2017.

Brooks was born on 22 January 1996 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. He grew up in Canada but played a part of his high school ball at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada. Other Canadians also played there, including Tristan Thompson, Corey Joseph and Anthony Bennett. Coming out of high school, he was a four-star, top-80 recruit according to ESPN. Brooks majored in general social science in college in Oregon. Follow him on Twitter (@dillonbrooks24). Brooks was named the 2016-17 Pac-12 Player of the Year. He was also named in the All-Pac-12 first team in back-to-back seasons (2015–16 and 2016-17). He led Oregon to the 2017 NCAA Tournament Final Four before falling to North Carolina. The Canadian collected 2017 All-Pac-12 Tournament First Team and 2017 NCAA Tournament All-Region Team honors. The forward led the ducks in 2016-17 in scoring, points per game (16.1) and field goals (5.9) per game. As a sophomore, Brooks led the Pac-12 in total field goals with 231 in the 2015–16 season. Brooks announced that he would enter the 2017 NBA Draft after his junior year and was selected 45th overall by the Rockets.
Contract
Memphis Grizzlies and swingman Dillon Brooks agreed on Wednesday a three-year, $35 million extension, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Brooks, 24, averaged 16.1 points on Wednesday shooting 42.4 percent (39.9 percent from the three-point boundary) and 3.4 rebounds. He is in his third NBA season.

Brooks was drafted by the Houston Rockets as the 45th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and was then immediately sold to the Memphis Grizzlies. [9] On July 21, 2017, the Grizzlies signed Brooks to a three-year $3,812,377 rookie deal. Did it [10] On October 18, 2017, during the Grizzlies season opener, Brooks scored 19 points, the most points scored by a Canadian-born player in an NBA debut. [11]
On April 11, 2018, Brooks scored a career-high 36 points with seven rebounds, one assist and two steals in a 137–123 loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder. [12] In December 2018, Brooks was involved in a failed three-way trade between the Memphis, Washington Wizards and Phoenix Suns; Business faltered in confusion between Brooks and his similarly-named teammate, Marson Brooks. On January 5, 2019, Brooks suffered a torn ligament [14] in his right big toe and had a successful surgery to repair it on January 11, 2019. Brooks missed the remainder of the 2018–19 season. [15]
Brooks began the 2019-20 season as the Grizzlies’ opening shooting guard. On February 5, 2020, he signed a three-year, $35 million extension with the Grizzlies, after averaging 16.1 points per game in the first half of the season. [16]
On February 28, 2020, Brooks scored a season-high 32 points as well as receiving two rebounds, an assist and a block in a 104–101 loss against the Sacramento Kings.
Injury
Basketball dominated the pre-season, winning three games by a two-point margin and two of them by at least 30 points. Still, they are doing so without one of their key players.

Grizzlies fans have known about Brooks for a long time, but he most recently put his name on the NBA map last season. In 2020-21, the Grizzly Wing averaged 17.2 points, the most on the team, and 1.2 steals, which equaled for the most on the team. He played a particularly strong on-ball defense, including a breakout performance against Stephen Curry in the play-in tournament.
