Georgia football defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt is the fourth dog off the board since the Green Bay Packers drafted him with the 28th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Wyatt has such a great story to tell, so it’s only fair to see him set the Dogs’ first-round record at four for a short period of time.

Georgia’s first record to be broken in this NFL Draft, and the Dogs are far from done.

With some off-field issues emerging over the past few days, it was uncertain whether Wyatt would go through in the first round, but the Packers knew they had to keep him and Quay Walker together.

Georgia Football sees Devonte Wyatt become the fourth dog drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Green Bay used back-to-back picks to defeat two Georgia players, giving them three in their defense after selecting Eric Stokes in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Wyatt is the third Georgia defensive lineman already taken in this draft, and it shows what kind of development Trey Scott is doing in Athens. He is an evil genius.

Domestic

For context, Wyatt has been arrested back in 2020 for an incident of “family violence”. There have also been three incidents of domestic violence involving Wyatt that team sources found.

Well… that’s not good. It’s one thing if a prospect’s character concerns his work ethic and/or something to that effect. This, at least, can be fixed. However, if the concern is about potentially violent tendencies, it’s understandable why NFL teams would pass on that in the early parts of the draft.

The report noted that Wyatt has already conducted interviews with several teams, such as the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs. The Fake NFL Draft currently features the Georgia DTs as a late first-round pick, potentially falling for teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Cincinnati Bengals.
