Fight time:
It’s been a busy few weeks for the lightweight division. Last weekend, George Kambosos shook up the boxing world with an upset win over Teofimo Lopez. On Sunday, Dec. 5, Gervonta Davis will take on Isaac Cruz on Showtime PPV (which you can watch via SlingTV). On Dec. 11, Vasiliy Lomachenko battles Richard Commey on ESPN.
The focus for Saturday, however, is Haney vs. Diaz for the former’s WBC title. The fight comes with some drama after Haney accused Diaz of trying to duck him in recent weeks.
Vs Jojo Diaz:
Haney is No. 4 in ESPN’s lightweight rankings and coming off a career-defining win against Jorge Linares. Diaz, who is ranked No. 7 in the division, defeated a tough Javier Fortuna in July. Haney comes into Saturday’s showdown as a –700 favorite over at FanDuel Sportsbook, while Diaz is a +440 underdog.
