Legal problem
Deshan Watson made his first remarks in months after a grand jury decided he would not face criminal charges.
“It’s definitely a very emotional moment for me. I know we’re far from handling what’s needed to deal with the legal side, but today is definitely a big day and I’m in love with my Lord and Savior Jesus.” Thank Christ that he heard the truth,” said the Texans quarterback. “And I thank everyone who was a part of seeing and hearing both sides and that’s what my point and my team wanted to do is tell us the story. State your side of the story, and let the conclusion run down. It happened today and that’s what the grand jury decided.
A grand jury returned nine “no” bills on nine criminal complaints against the Texas quarterback, and while the prosecutor said it ends criminal proceedings in Harris County, Watson still faces civil legal troubles. The civil statement also began on Friday, and as previously reported, Watson called for the Fifth Amendment. Watson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, later issued a statement, saying, “It is time to let Deshan move on.”
There have been 22 active civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault and assault, from Watson’s refusal to cover her genitals to graphic accounts of women forcing women to put their penises in their mouths.
What did actually do
The first two lawsuits were filed by Buzby in Harris County, Texas. The first lawsuit stems from an incident allegedly at the home of a massage therapist in March 2020, and the second lawsuit allegedly stems from an incident at The Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa in August 2020. The plaintiffs in both of those lawsuits are female massage therapists who filed as Jane Doe.
Both lawsuits allege that Watson committed civil assault by exposing himself and touching the plaintiff with his penis. Both lawsuits also state that the plaintiffs became “uncomfortable” during the massage, and that the women abruptly ended their session following Watson’s inappropriate behavior. He did not respond to any additional attempts at communication from Watson, who initially set up the meetings via Instagram Direct Message, according to the lawsuit.
“It became clear that Watson only wanted massage for one reason – sex,” says the first lawsuit.
Watson reportedly told plaintiffs involved in the March 2020 incident: “I know you have a career and a reputation, and I know you’d hate to mess with someone, just like I don’t.” Wants someone to mess with me.” According to the lawsuit, she considered Watson’s remarks a threat.
The plaintiffs are seeking compensatory damages to “prevent Watson from further similar conduct.”
