Titans running back Derrick Henry is 6-3, 238 pounds and — as of the completion of Tennessee’s “Monday Night Football” win over the Bills — the NFL’s fastest player. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Henry topped out at 21.8 mph on the run.

The two-time defending NFL rushing king claimed the title of fastest player on the Titans’ first score of the game, a 76-yard touchdown run. Henry, who started the play 8 yards behind the line of scrimmage, already had a full head of steam when he broke through it.

The Bills run defense knows how big of a challenge Titans running back Derrick Henry is, and it showed in Monday night’s game.

Henry finished with 20 carries for 143 yards and three touchdowns, surpassing the 100-yard mark for the 5th straight game. His longest run of the day was a 76-yard touchdown run where he, according to the ESPN broadcast, reached 21.8 miles per hour. It was the fastest run of his career.

Fastest Speed:

21.8 mph

According to NFL’s Next Gen Stats, Henry reached a top speed of 21.8 mph on the play, which is notable, because it’s currently the FASTEST speed that any player in the NFL has reached this season.

At 247 pounds it doesn’t seem possible that Derrick Henry has the speed to outrun an entire NFL defense, but not only did he do that on Monday, he also ran faster than ANY other NFL player this season.

With an 85 pound bar, he does 10 sets of 10 reps each of rotating skull crushers, chest press, standing rows, overhead press, and bicep curls. Along with weighted bar shoulder shrugs, Henry’s other sets include pull-ups, rows, and jump rope.
