Derrick Henry: Fantasy replacement| Is out for the season

Week 9 is here! And it was a rough weekend for some fantasy football owners. Derrick Henry is likely to be out for the season. Calvin Ridley is stepping away from football to recover his mental health. And Kyler Murray could have suffered an injury at the end of Thursday’s loss to the Packers.

For a more in-depth look at the wire, check out Jake Seeley’s largely discounted wire column, where he breaks down free agents from the situation and helps you figure out who you should be going after. It is published at midnight and we will link to it here.

Goodbye QB Nightmare
Q: “I’m in a deep league with ownership of all the starting QBs and need a by-week replacement for Brady. I’m rostering Sam Darnold for this purpose. Would you rather Tessam Hill over Darnold next week? , Will either Trevor Simian or Mike White pick up and start? – Jonathan

Oh, is that so. Those choices are terrifying. I think I’ll take a shot at Tessum Hill and his ability to play big on the field. Nothing to get excited about, but Sam Darnold against the Patriots is nothing I want to be a part of this week.

Don’t overthink it, play your stars
Q: “I want to fill out my two WRs and one flex this week with Stephen Diggs, Jammer Chase, Justin Jefferson, and Michael Carter. No PPR. Who’s the weirdest guy?” — Woodrow D.

As much as I love Michael Carter, he’s a handy seat next to three stud wideouts. Start Diggs, Chase and Jefferson every week.

While the Tennessee Titans and their fans are feeling right after the news of a serious leg injury for running back Derrick Henry, we present some hope to you.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Titans are expecting Henry to return this season, with a return deadline of six to 10 weeks. Rapoport notes that eight weeks is, most likely, right in the middle of that time frame.

Titans head coach Mike Wrabel confirmed Henry was scheduled to have surgery on his leg on Tuesday morning, but did not give a timetable for a return.

If the eight-week timetable is successful, Henry will return exactly around week 16. If it takes a full 10 weeks, it will be back by the 18th week.
