First wife
The former New York Yankees player hooked up with a Victoria’s Secret model for two years before retiring from baseball.
“Derek and I met during the off-season, and I think it was a lucky break,” Hannah wrote in a February 2017 article on Derek’s website, The Players Tribune. “It let us spend some time together away from New York. I had no preconceptions about who he was, and I didn’t need to go further than that: I had met the best man, and I wanted him to be my own.” Wanted to know on terms. Not Google’s.”
Wife and daughter
Hannah and Derek have three children together. Their eldest daughter, Bella Raine Jeter, was born in 2017 followed by their second daughter, Story Gray Jeter, in 2019. The couple welcomed their youngest girl, River Rose Jeter, in 2021.
The former shortstop spoke about his wife and two oldest children during his Baseball Hall of Fame induction speech, which happened a few months before River was born.
Number retired
The New York Yankees is one of the most iconic franchises in all sports. So naturally, the team has a number of numbers that they’ve retired from over the years. On Tuesday, the Yankees announced that the team would retire Paul O’Neill’s No. 21 jersey during a ceremony on Aug. 21 until Major League Baseball reached a resolution regarding the lockdown.
O’Neill is the 23rd player in franchise history to be retired by the Yankees. The former outfielder will be the first Yankee to retire his number since Derek Jeter retired his number 2 in 2017.
Retirement press conference
Jeter will be done by the end of the season. For now, he is like every other player in mid-February, preparing for the start of the regular season.
When the subject changed to play a major role in their decision-making process in their difficult 2013 season, Jeter was quick to remind his team and fans that his future had nothing to do with how he currently feels. After playing only 17 games last season, the 40-year-old shortstop reports that he feels great physically.
