Derek Dallas Carr is an American football quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Raiders in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Derek played college football at Fresno State. He is the brother of former NFL quarterback and current NFL Network analyst David Carr.

Carr’s high school football career began at Clements High School in Sugar Land, Texas. After playing on the freshman team his first year, he became a backup quarterback on the varsity team as a sophomore. He did not prepare himself to become the starting quarterback, but a preseason injury to another quarterback thrust him into the role.
What helmet does wear:
The new VICIS ZERO2 debuted during the NFL and NFLPA’s safety tests this spring.
The helmet is designed to give players as much protection and safety as possible. It’s also pretty cool looking! It will be interesting to see if Carr does wear it this season and how many other players around the league do so as well.
