Injury
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver/running back Deebo Samuel suffered an injury in the second quarter against the Denver Broncos. After a reception, the Broncos gang confronted him and he appeared to have his ankle rolled by a protester. The good news is that he is already out of the tent and back on the bench. We’ll see if he can get back to his next possession.
Hurt
San Francisco 49ers fans everywhere were able to breathe a collective sigh of relief when star wide receiver Deebo Samuel was able to return to the sidelines after a brief visit to the medical tent during their Week 3 matchup against the Denver Broncos. It took the 26-year-old some time before he was able to get off the pitch due to a leg injury.
Samuel needed no help as he went into the medical tent under his own power. It didn’t even look like he was limping as he slowly walked towards the tent:
Deebo Samuel runs under his own power and goes straight to the blue tent.
Brothers
On Tuesday, Dibo’s brother Tyquan Samuel fueled the speculation on Facebook.
“Don’t worry we’re asking for a trade,” he said in the comments section of a post about his brother’s NFL future.
“He won’t be the 49er. That’s all that matters,” he later doubled.
Samuel is looking for a big-time payoff after a breakout season that saw him lead the Niners to the NFC Championship Game last season. As one of the most dangerous and versatile weapons in the NFL, the 26-year-old wideout feels he deserves a specific contract—especially considering the big deals earlier this off-season for some of his wide receiver colleagues.
Samuel is set to make $4.9 million in the fourth and final year of his rookie contract with the 49ers this coming season.
