He played college football at Clemson and was drafted by the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Hopkins is a five-time Pro Bowler and has also been named to five All-Pro teams.

Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins suffered a torn MCL a few weeks ago. He was placed on wounded reserve in mid-December. The Cardinals are playing without Hopkins, although they have somewhat reduced the stretch. Will he play against Ram tonight?
DeAndre Hopkins’ 2021 production
Hopkins struggled with injuries throughout the 2021 season, as he played only 10 games. He saw mixed results, posting 42 receptions for 572 yards and 8 touchdowns on 64 goals.
Hopkins started the year with a great game against the Tennessee Titans. He posted 6 receptions for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns on 8 goals in Week 1. He then made 4 receptions for 54 yards and 1 touchdown on only 4 goals against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2.
Hopkins struggled overall, however, as he failed to register 100 yards in any game this year. Hopkins had clocked 13 goals in week 14 before his injury, but he converted them into only 5 receptions for 54 yards.
Injury
DeAndre Hopkins is arguably the best receiver in football. Unfortunately for him and the Cardinals, he will not play in the team’s wild card game on Monday night against the Rams.
Hopkins, who this season received 42 receptions for 572 yards and eight touchdowns in 10 games, is still recovering from a torn MCL that has sidelined him for the past four weeks. He underwent surgery to repair the tear and originally hoped to return for the NFC Championship Game if the Cardinals were to advance that far.
Instead, Arizona is expected to field receivers AJ Green, Christian Kirk and Rondell Moore on Monday. Backup receiver Antoine Wesley, who recorded five catches for 30 yards and two touchdowns in the Cardinals’ 25-22 win over the Cowboys on January 2, may also find time to play at Hopkins’ position.
Status
Hopkins suffered a torn MCL on Monday night in Arizona, losing to the Rams on December 13. The injury required surgery, but there is still a possibility that Star WR will be back soon. So when will DeAndre Hopkins be back and the Cardinals back in offense?
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported in mid-December that Hopkins would “probably need 6 weeks of recovery.”
Here are the approximate dates of Cardinals playoff games, with the caveat that games may be played on Saturday or Sunday, and—of course—that the Cardinals will need to advance to each round. For the sake of continuity, these dates are for each Sunday of the playoffs.

DeAndre Hopkins will not return for the Cardinals wild card against the Rams as it will be only 34 days after the injury. Cardinals head coach Cliff Kingsbury confirmed on Wednesday that Hopkins would not play on Monday. Hopkins, who is back for the divisional round, will certainly push it, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
The divisional round will be 5 weeks and 6 days from the date of injury, a day shy of 6 weeks. The return to the NFC Championship Game will be one day shy of week 7 and the Super Bowl will be one day shy of week 9.
