Injury 2022
Deandre Ayton will return tonight with a right ankle sprain that left him sidelined 5 games after being injured in the 25-game return game.
Injury 2020
He returned for a game against the Los Angeles Clippers on December 17, but then missed five straight matches due to a sprained right ankle. He also played two games with pain in his left ankle before the 2020 All-Star break. The 6’11”, 250 lb big man’s ankles have caused him many problems.
Knee injury
It was unclear when the injury occurred during Saturday’s win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, but Ayton told Associated Press David Brandt that he had a knee-to-knee injury to the right side of his leg and was feeling fine. Head coach Monty Williams explained the injury after practice on Monday.
Injury hawks
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton is out for Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks with a leg injury, according to AZCentral.com’s Duane Rankin.
The 23-year-old was ruled out of Phoenix’s competition against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday after injuring his right leg. He appears to have suffered an injury last week against the Cleveland Cavaliers when he was ruled out of the game in the third quarter and did not return.
